Fountain featuring the university crest
Description
Ornamental fountain with a large white marble basin in the form of a pond. At the bottom lies the crest of the University of Almería, in die-cut sheet metal (steel). The heraldic motif itself is an adaptation of the relief of the anthropomorphic shining sun found at Almería Cathedral, known as the “Sol de Portocarrero”. Surrounding this is the motto “IN LUMINE SAPIENTIA UNIVERSITAS ALMERIENSIS”.
